Some of my best friends I've met through this organization and the Calgary Rodeo stands proud. Many of the folks who compete there are legit, they make their living in raising or growing commodities...
I just got back from the PRCA rodeo in Plains Montana and had a great time. The lone downer was the rodeo clown who kept going on and on about "Brokeback Mountain (he was a piece of work from South Carolina and not representative of Montana) being a work of fiction". According to the clown with the frown, John Wayne was rolling in his grave.
The crowd was silent and didn't respond to the bait. I was actually kinda proud of the big sky folks who held their own against this homophobe...

Anyway, even getting someone to talk about gay in South Carolina is progress; good or bad. I could come in kissing a guy and they'd be so clueless, they'd think I was giving CPR.

We went to the gay rodeo in La Honda just south of San Francisco about three weeks ago and had a great time. Even the food was good!
